In New York for the book signing earlier in the week, Bono and Edge talked with John Norris of MTV. Catch our edited highlights.

MTV: You guys have done big events before, the Super Bowl, Live8, but there had to have been something special about last night.

Edge: Yeah. It really was. It was one of those moments where the heart and the soul of the whole occasion were just so amazing. And the reaction from the crowd who were there to see a football game really Ö I mean they went nuts. It was because they got it, they knew what we were going to do and the spirit of the event, and it was amazing. It was really very moving. continuar

U2 y Green Day, lanzaran como sencillo la version en estudio de la cancion The Saints Are Coming, que grabaron hace un par de semanas en Londres en los Estudios Abbey Road, todas las ganancias seran destinadas a la Fundacion MusicRising.

U2, Green Day, Release ‘The Saints’
The studio version of ‘The Saints Are Coming’, produced by Rick Rubin, is to be released as a benefit for Music Rising.

The live version is already available as a US-only download but at the end of October the version recorded by the two bands at Abbey Road earlier this month will make its download debut.

A week later, November 6th, the track will be released on 7″ and CD.

All proceeds to Music Rising. You can hear – and download – the live version from Monday night’s re-opening of the New Orleans Superdome here.
