Universal Music informa a la comunidad de fans que el DVD “U2 ZOO TV, Live from Sydney” YA se está distribuyendo en el paÃs, por lo que pueden empezar a buscarlo en su tienda de discos y si aun no llega no se preocupen, es cuestión de dÃas.
“U2 ZOO TV, Live from Sydney” está disponible en México en sus dos versiones, las cuales son de edición nacional, mismas que fueron elaboradas con mucho cuidado y esmero, para cumplir con las exigencias y especificaciones que U2 demanda.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de ver la impresión número 1 del empaque, tal como salió de la imprenta y podemos decirles que, a?n sin los acabados y sin ensamblar, la calidad no le pide nada a cualquier producto de importación. Seg?n nos explicó Universal estas son algunas de las caracterÃsticas de la edición nacional de “U2 ZOO TV, Live from Sydney”:
- doble capa de barniz.
- algunas de sus partes, como las charolas, son importadas.
- doblado, pegado y ensamblado a mano.
- materiales dé la mejor calidad.
- diseño ?nico, por primera vez hecho en México.
El trabajo representó un gran reto de diseño, impresión y armado, pero afortundamente se tuvo en el tiempo previsto y con la calidad requerida por U2, que confió y autorizó la hechura local, que se puede considerar un privilegio, ya que no todos los paÃses la tienen.

De acuerdo a u2place.com y u2achtung, Adam Clayton comento ayer a fans afuera de los estudios Abbey Road que el DVD de Milan ha sido cancelado, y que sin embargo se prevee que Popmart Mexico sea editado en DVD.
Tambien se dice que Larry y Bono confirmaron que el nuevo disco que estan comensando a grabar, no saldra en el 2007.

Paul McGuinness habla para Hotpress acerca del Zoo Tv, de la decision de mover la direccion fiscal de U2 a Holanda y de la decision de Universal de permitir descargas gratuitas.
BIG SCREENS AND CARS TRABANTS IN THE ROOF
‘We had designers who were thinking big. Willie Williams, who had been with the band since the ’80′s as a lighting designer…. when he wasn’t working for U2 he had worked in ballet and theatre presentations … and we put him together with Mark Fisher, an English architect who had been involved in the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd shows. And he had a great mixture of artistic sensibility and architectural know-how. So the ideas could be translated into something that was not just visually appealing but also could be put up in the very short periods of time that we had available…’
ON THE VIDEO CONFESSIONAL
There were people who proposed to each other. There were people who confessed to adulterous liasons. There were people who took their clothes off – that was quite common. Yeah, and there were people who made serious points. We used to edit them together in the afternoon before the show…. there’s a good sample of those on the DVD.’
MICK JAGGER ON THE ZOO
‘I remember when Mick Jagger saw the show in Dublin, I was standing with him and he said to me, ‘This is unbelievable. Wow! This is going to be like Star Wars. If you do something as big as this, we have to do something even bigger!’ So it’s a little like an arms race.’

“The reality is that U2′s business is 90% conducted around the world. 90% of our tickets and 98% of our records are sold outside of Ireland. It’s where we live and where we work and where we employ a lot of people. But we pay taxes all over the world ñ of many different kinds. And like any other business, we are perfectly entitled to minimise the tax we pay.”
He also argues that the band’s critics in Ireland are missing the point. “Ireland,” he points out, “has benefited economically enormously from attracting people to a low tax environment.”
McGuinness also calls Universal Music’s recent decision to offer free, advertising-supported downloads “awful.”
