Finalmente se dio a conocer una esperada noticia: U2 se unirá a Beyoncé y Coldplay para encabezar una de las noches del festival de Glastonbury de este año, después de que la banda se viera forzada a cancelar su participación del año pasado debido a la lesión de espalda de Bono. La noticia fue anunciada esta tarde en los premios NME, atraveás de un video mensaje de The Edge, cuando felicitaba a Michael y Emily Eavis por haber ganado el premio por Mejor Festival.

En su mensaje The dijo: ”Más que un festival es una forma de vida. El año pasado toqué ahí la noche del viernes. Debo decir que hay algo realmente especial e icónico en ese escenario. Así que todos estamos deseando regresar y retomar lo que inicié. Y estamos muy emocionados de tocar en frente de la audiencia más grande de los festivales. U2 tocará el 24 de junio, así que ¡ahí nos vemos!”
